Helping people become more attentive to God and more deeply formed in the way of Jesus.

I’m Jamie Phear — a Christian writer, speaker and educator. 

My work is grounded in Scripture and centred on helping people become more attentive to God, more secure in who they are in Christ, and more able to respond faithfully to His leading.

The work grew out of a journey of my own.

For nearly a decade, I taught English at community colleges in the United States, where I’m from, and I loved helping students think deeply, ask better questions and make sense of the world around them.

But the work I do now has also grown out of a much more personal journey with God.

I grew up in a Christian home, but walked away from my faith as a teenager with little intention of returning. For much of the next decade, I was trying to work out who I was — reinventing myself, looking for identity in achievement, experiences and the things the world told me would make a life meaningful.

By my mid-twenties, beneath a confident exterior, I felt increasingly lost. In a moment of desperation, I cried out to God and had an encounter with the Holy Spirit that became a turning point in my life. My return to faith wasn’t immediate or tidy; it would still be several years before I walked back into a church and fully surrendered my life to Jesus.

What followed was a long and often gentle process of learning what it meant to live as a beloved daughter of God. I began confronting shame, discovering my identity in Christ, recognising the gifts God had placed in me, and becoming increasingly interested in spiritual formation, the inner life and the question of calling.

Then, in 2023, I entered what I thought would be a six-month sabbatical to discern what God might have for me next. Instead, it became a much longer season of uncertainty, transition and deep inner work. Plans changed. My move from the US to the UK became far more complicated than expected. And eventually, God asked me to lay down the teaching career I had spent most of my adult life building.

It was a season that stripped away many of the things I had relied on for certainty and taught me that calling is not simply about finding the right role or having the future mapped out. It's about knowing God, learning to recognise His voice, understanding how He has formed and gifted us, and becoming willing to respond to His invitation one faithful step at a time.

That journey began reshaping the work I felt drawn to offer.

Today, I write, speak, preach and create resources that give people space to slow down, pay attention to God, understand more fully who they are in Christ, and discern how He may be inviting them to live.

I’m interested in creating spaces where people can listen well, discern faithfully and take the next step with God.
